Tim and I always said that when we had kids we were not going to re-arrange the house and we would just teach our children what they could and could not touch. We bought our house thinking that our back living area would be a play room and that is where the toys would stay. Well now that we are parents we realize the reality is that we were totally wrong! The entire house looks like a toy store exploded all the time and certain things around the house have had to be put up a little higher. Most of you probably know that Tim and I are very particular about the house and keeping things where they go and clean. Well, Kade has somewhat caused us to loosen up quite a bit.
One thing that we have always been pretty anal about is the carpet. We don't eat or drink on the carpet. We have a wine rack in our kitchen very close to where the kitchen and the living room meet. Neither one of us are wine drinkers, we have some wine bottles on the rack for decoration. I was in the kitchen talking to Tim on the phone when Kade crawled into the kitchen and grabbed onto the wine rack to pull himself up. He lost his balance and on his way down grabbed a wine bottle. Just as I was saying,"No, no Kade," the wine bottle fell on the tile and wine spilled out everywhere. I ran over and picked him up quick, thank goodness he was not hurt at all. He just looked at me and smiled. I put him in his bed and picked my phone back up and told Tim I had to go there was wine everywhere. The wine spilled into the living room covering a pretty big spot of the carpet. I scrubbed forever to try to get the wine up, all we had was a small bottle of carpet cleaner. The cleaner did not work well at all. I am hoping that we can find some better cleaner at the store or if anyone knows how to get wine out of the carpet please let me know. So the kitchen now smells like a bar and we have a huge purple spot on the carpet in the living room. We now have an empty wine rack in the kitchen and I am thinking it is going to stay empty until Kade goes to college!

Oh no! I hope it comes out!
There are some days that we don't even bother to pick up the toys. Noah has taken over every room in the house and I don't see it getting better anytime soon. I'm not so sure I would have it any other way now!
I'm glad that Kade wasn't hurt. Use white wine to remove the red stain.

Uh oh! Aside from the stain on the carpet, that's a pretty funny story! Too bad it wasn't white wine!
Welcome to my world. It's only the beginning.
This story is so funny except for the stain of course...we all start out saying we aren't going to let the kids take over but they always do but its just part of them growing up. And they do that way to fast.
Oh no Heather! It's so sad about your carpet, but at least he wasn't hurt! I love the carpet cleaner called Hot Shot. I spilled an entire glass of raspberry tea not too long after I had moved in. It was able to get it out with a lot of scrubbing!
