December Fun

The Bailey's have been busy in December. We have done lots of fun things, but I haven't had time to post pictures. Kade is taking a nap right now, so I finally can get to the computer.
Kade is no longer the sweet little baby boy that loved for me to sit and hold him. He is now a sweet WILD BOY! Just since I have been home on Christmas break he has really started to be on the move. He scoots around all over the place and he has gotten fast. He doesn't crawl he does this funny swimmer looking scoot. He is even pulling up on things too and falling all over the place. He hits his head and just keeps going. It is really scary! We can not leave him alone for a minute anymore. He constantly wants to be on the go and is interested in everything. I'm a little worried he is going to be the sweet little boy in Kindergarten who is always running around the room. His teacher will be saying, "Kade sit down." Just getting the boy to stop for a diaper change is like a huge struggle. He is really at a fun age, he is starting to really interact and play. Tim and I have so much fun just playing with Kade.
I am really enjoying getting to be at home with him. Tim and I got to go out on a date to the Stars game last night. My cousin's company had extra tickets and she asked us to go. It was a lot of fun. Thanks Angie! Early this month Tim's mom came to visit and we celebrated Christmas with her. We also walked in the Jingle Bell Run and Kade; and I went with my cousin and her kids to the Polar Express. We had a fun Christmas, Kade's favorite thing was rolling in all the paper. Here are some pictures from Christmas and December Fun; they are a little out of order...

Go Stars!

We took Kade to his first Dallas Stars game on Friday night. We had a lot of fun. Kade did get scared 2 times when the people around us got extra excited. Tim and I were really nervous that it would be too loud for him. Kade stared at the huge t.v. scoreboard. He took about a 30 minute nap after the first period and woke up at the end to see the Stars win the game. We were all really exhausted when we got home. Tim and I decided this would probably be Kade's last Stars game for awhile. :)

Holidays

The holiday season always makes me miss my mom even more. This time of year I feel myself getting moody and extremely irritable. I feel bad because Tim is always the one who suffers from my moodiness. He is always so patient with me whether I am being mean to him or crying over every little thing. I am very lucky to have such a great husband. Holidays are supposed to be happy; but I just get so sad wishing that my mom was here to enjoy it with us. Now that we have Kade it is so hard knowing that he will never know my mom. She would have loved him! When I have questions or don't know what to do I just want to call my mom. She always knew the right thing to say in any situation I was ever in. She really was like my best friend, I told her everything. I think about her everyday. Tim and I talk about her sometimes and it's nice to remember the different times we had together. My mom loved the holidays and having parties with family and friends. It's Kade's first Christmas and I really want the holidays to be special for him like they were with me and my mom. I know my mom would not want me to be sad. She was always smiling and trying to make the best out of any situation. I know that on Christmas morning she will be there watching over my family and smiling.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at my grandma's house in Blossom, Texas. It was about a 3 hour drive. My brother rode with us; he and Kade slept the whole way. It was fun getting to see everyone!

Kade loved his first Thanksgiving.
Kade and Daddy enjoyed watching the Cowboys win.

Sunday Afternoons At Our House

Tim is a football fanatic. During football season on Sunday afternoons he will be sitting on our couch with the remote and his laptop. The remote for flipping back and forth between games (because he watches them all) and his laptop for checking his fantasy team scores every minute. It is so funny when his friends call during the games so they can chat about their teams. But I have to say that this year Tim has really been sweet to give up some football time to spend family time with us. Tim missed a Cowboy game this year to go to the pumpkin patch; that is a huge deal for him. What a sweet dad!
Tim is already pulling Kade into the football craziness. Kade loves to sit on the couch and watch football with Daddy. He will stare at the t.v. It is so funny! Here is a picture of Kade looking just like Daddy...

Croup

Poor Kade is sick with croup. Monday when I picked him up at Ms. Lynda's she said she thought he had a cough that sounded like croup. I had heard of croup, but really did not know what it was. Because she is such a great babysitter she had already gone on the internet and printed me out a sheet all about croup. She told me not to worry; just be looking out for this.
Monday night we all went to bed at usual time and at 11:00 Kade woke up crying with this barking seal like cough. He would wake up about every hour with this same awful coughing. It was awful! None of us slept hardly at all that night. We kept checking his temperature, but he never had a fever. I had to wake up at 5:00 am to be at a conference I had been attending all week. Tim said he would see how Kade was doing when he woke up and take him to the doctor. I felt awful leaving him!!
So when I got to the conference I called Tim and he said Kade was just fine laughing and playing with no fever. Tim took him to Ms. Lynda's and said he was going to try to take a half day to take him to the doctor. About mid morning I called Ms. Lynda and she said that Kade was doing great. Around 2:00 I sent Tim a text to see if he was still planning to take Kade to the doctor. He said Ms. Lynda called and Kade has a small fever. He said my brother was taking him to the doctor! I quickly texted back; WHAT???? First of all I couldn't believe Tim had gotten my brother to take Kade to the doctor by himself and second why was my brother taking him. Of course Tim's typical guy answer was, "What? What's wrong with your brother taking him?" Now I felt even worse that I couldn't be there to take my poor sick baby to the doctor. It all worked out and my brother did great; he took good care of Kade. I'm very thankful for him.
The doctor said Kade did have croup and he had to get 2 steroid shots. I stayed home with him today and he has done so well. He is such a tough little guy. Last night he only woke up once coughing. Pray that he gets over this quickly; it is so sad to see your sweet little baby sick.

Happy Halloween/Happy Birthday Tim!

Here are some pictures from Halloween and the pumpkin patch!

I decided to start a blog to keep everyone up to date on what's going on at the Bailey house and I hope to post updated pictures of Kade! We will see how well I do at keeping up with this. The pictures ended up at the top of this post, I meant for them to be at the end. I'm still learning how to do this whole blog thing, maybe I'll figure it out next time.
We have had a fun weekend; I love the weekends!! We started Friday night by celebrating Tim's birthday. He is a Halloween baby (kind of spooky huh). We had his favorite chocolate chip with pecans cookie cake from the Nestle Cafe. Then we dressed up our little kangaroo and took him around to see a few friends. My brother came over to celebrate with us. When we got home at 9:30 Mommy and Daddy were exhausted, but not Kade he was wide awake laughing and playing. Today we went to a birthday party for my cousin's little girl. She was 1 today; she was all dressed up in a pretty pink dress. Kade enjoyed the party and Daddy even gave him a taste of icecream.
